RENTALS FAQ

We will bring the boat to your chosen lake. The boat can be delivered as early as 9AM on the starting day of the rental. The boat will need to be returned to the ramp no later than 5PM on the end date of the rental. On both drop-off and pick-up, you will need to meet our rental specialist to perform check-in and check-out procedures respectively. Pick-up and delivery will be billed at $100/hour.

All you have to do is meet the rental team at the boat ramp, go through a short check-in procedure, and that’s it! We’ll load the boat on the trailer and take it with us.

We are unable to provide water services or service calls on other lakes. You as the renter assume 100% responsibility for the boat once you take it from the ramp. If the boat breaks down or is damaged it is your responsibility to return it to the ramp for pickup. In special circumstances of no-fault mechanical failure dockside service calls may be arranged. However, we are unable to guarantee such.

YES! North Water Marine is proud to be the FIRST marina in New Hampshire to offer insurance coverage backed by national carriers to our rental customers. Please click here to view the full description of coverage. Insurance can be purchased ahead of time when you book your rental.

You will receive the boat with a full tank of fuel, and we will charge you for the amount of fuel you use. You are responsible for the gas for the duration of your rental. PLAN ACCORDINGLY.

We highly suggest locating the nearest on-land gas station and using portable gas cans to ensure you do not run out of fuel during your rental. ONLY use fuel that is 89 Octane or higher.

For lakes that have no on-water fueling stations, NWM will provide extra empty fuel containers at your request and at no extra cost to facilitate refueling the boat.

We are unable to deliver or pick your boat up directly from your dock. Part of the off lake rental process requires you, the renter, to meet a rental team member at the boat ramp to collect your boat.

We do our best to accommodate any customer needs or requests and understand that schedules are fluid, especially when coordinating a vacation. We will always do everything we can to make the process as seamless as possible. However, we cannot guarantee delivery or pickup outside of the scheduled times.

Yes, each rental is equipped with a tow bar. You may also add a tube or skis to your rental for an additional charge.

Each rental is equipped with the necessary safety equipment required by the NH Department of Safety, including orange type 1 PFDs for the boat's maximum capacity. Additional ski jackets may be requested - sizes must be provided by the renter in advance. We offer infant, youth, and adult sizes.

We only except weekly extensions which are subject to availability and must be requested at least 48 hours in advance.

We do not claim to be knowledgeable of each lake we provide this service for, and it is your responsibility to equip yourself with the necessary knowledge to navigate the lake safely. However, a fact sheet will be provided to you after booking your rental that outlines important information you may need about the lake you are renting on.

We offer full refunds on bookings canceled more than 7 days in advance. Inside 7 days there are no refunds. The ONLY exception being inclement weather in which case we offer you the opportunity to be rescheduled within this calendar season. We do not extend re-booking to future rental seasons. Re-bookings must be made at least 48 hours prior to your checkout time.

YES! North Water Marine is a dog-friendly marina and will be happy to have your potty-trained and well-mannered four-legged friends on any of our rentals!

Yes, state law requires you to possess a valid NASBLA approved boaters license to operate any boat over 25 horsepower. You will need to have this license on your person the day of your rental and be able to present it along with a photo ID for your rental. Not sure if your license is NASBLA approved? Look for the NASBLA emblem on your physical license or call your issuing agency to confirm. For Coast Guard and other federally issued licenses please call us at 603-366-4811 to confirm acceptance. If you do not possess a NASBLA approved boaters license you may obtain a New Hampshire 14-day temporary license for your rental.

You can take the test right here on site at NWM. The New Hampshire temporary license test is 25 questions, and you must get at least 20 correct to pass. There is a $20 fee pass or fail. PLEASE NOTE, if you fail you cannot retake the test for 24 hours, no exceptions. To prepare for the test, we recommend you review the test materials provided by state which can be found by clicking here.

We strongly recommend you come in at least 24 hours before your rental to take the test if you are able. This ensures that even if you fail you will have another chance to pass before your rental. For larger groups we also recommend multiple people in your party be prepared to take the test. This greatly increases your odds of having at least one licensed captain.
